The russian education system is rapidly deteriorating. The kremlin does not need smart children – the country only needs workers and soldiers. Educational reforms boil down to simplifying curricula: head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev has openly admitted that a significant portion of school subjects are “too difficult” for students.

Instead of exact sciences and literature, schools cultivate military training and war propaganda. Schoolchildren are taught obedience rather than critical thinking. Teenagers, especially those among the 20 % of drug-addicted schoolchildren aged 9–13, often simply cannot  pass their exams – the state offers them a quick and free path to vocational schools.

Politicians add to this picture absurd initiatives: for example, demanding that television shows that “diminish girls’ desire to get  married” be censored. In the country where the gender pay gap is one of the largest in the world, the government and the church are blocking laws against domestic violence, citing the need to “protect the traditional family”.

russia is building a system where young people are prepared not for knowledge and careers, but for a submissive role in the army or in a factory.
