In September 2026, the European Court of Human Rights dismissed nearly 900 complaints filed by russians – a natural consequence of russia’s own actions, which have permanently severed ties with the European justice system.

Among the dismissed cases are horrifying accounts of abuse: victims of the second chechen war, those killed on the “kolskaya” platform, the destroyed homes of dagestan residents, the murder of human rights activist Timur Kuashev, and the torture of a Syrian man by militants of the “wagner” terrorist group.

Although the ECHR recognized these complaints as potentially well-grounded, the Court stated that further consideration had become pointless due to moscow’s complete refusal to cooperate and its disregard for any rulings.

By withdrawing from the Council of Europe and the European Convention on Human Rights, putin’s regime has single-handedly closed the last doors for its own citizens. With this move, the kremlin has clearly demonstrated that it does not care about the rights and lives of its citizens.
