The latest survey of russians showed a sharp decline in support for the war.

The so-called “war party” continues to shrink: in August, only 27 % of respondents were in favor of continuing the war, with only 16 % remaining unequivocal supporters. In contrast, a significant majority – 66 % – believe that peace negotiations should begin. For comparison, a year ago only 50 % thought so.

More and more russians admit that the war has directly affected their families. 22 %  said they felt its impact “very strongly”.  Most often this is associated with the death of loved ones (30–36 %), the participation of relatives or friends in hostilities (28–32 %), as well as injuries and disabilities of military personnel (5 %). For others, the main consequences were emotional stress (20–23 %), rising prices and worsening financial situation (14–19 %), destruction of family ties (6  %), etc.

russia’s society is gradually losing its willingness to support the war, as more and more people are personally affected by its consequences.
