The kremlin Surveys Acknowledge a Crisis That Cannot Be Hidden
12/30/2025

According to the results of 2025, public sentiment in russia shows a deepening of negative expectations. Despite the traditionally unreliable data from the kremlin sociologists, even they are forced to record signs of crisis.
• 19 % of russians forecast a deterioration in living conditions in 2026 – the highest since 2022.
• 25 % of respondents reported a decline in their financial situation.
• 67 % of citizens cite inflation as the main source of their concern, exacerbated by rising fuel and food prices.
Official statistics on the slowdown in inflation to 5.8 % has not reduced social tensions: the decline in demand among low- and middle-income households only highlights the scale of the problem.
At the same time, support for a peaceful settlement of the war has grown to 67 % (from 54 % in 2024), which contrasts with the fake figures of “77.9 % trust in putin” and “66 % approval of foreign policy”.
The kremlin is trying to compensate for economic discontent with rhetoric about “stability”, but the reality – rising living costs, stagnant incomes, and no prospects for ending the war – is leading to further accumulation of hidden protest and demands for a change in the government’s priorities.
