Ukraine and Germany are preparing a Drone Deal.
Germany is providing Ukraine with a new aid package worth over EUR 1.3 billion. It will include weapons, assistance for the energy sector, and funding for the production of drone interceptors.
“We are ready for negotiations; we are ready to discuss among ourselves how to end this war. But these barbaric attacks on the civilian population of Ukraine must stop,” Chancellor of the FRG Friedrich Merz urged putin to end “this senseless war” against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed three memorandums with the German company Diehl Defence, which provide for the purchase and delivery of thousands of IRIS-T missiles, IRIS-T fire modules, and additional missiles, as well as joint work on high-precision artillery munitions. Ukraine has received EUR 50 million as part of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEDB) project “HOME: Compensation for Destroyed Housing”.
Germany has delivered over 23 tons of power generation equipment to Odesa region.
According to European Commission Spokesperson Christian Wiegand, the EU’s diplomatic mission continues to operate in the Ukrainian capital, and russia will not intimidate Europe or force it to stop supporting Ukraine.
